              Event Description:


              The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce along with Connersville TV3 and the Connersville NewsExaminer, are hosting a General Election Candidates' Forum.  Contested races in Fayette County will be included (time will not permit for township or precinct seats).  Residents of Fayette County will have the opportunity to hear candidates speak and answer specific questions on the position for which they are running.  Democrat, Republican, and Liberterian/Independent candidates for each county-wide, state, and federal seat were invited to participate.  An independent Moderator will control the forum, allowing each candidate to provide an opening and closing statement, and then answer position-specific questions within an allotted time.  THIS IS NOT A DEBATE. 

              Our county, state, and nation have difficult issues to handle.  Spend the time getting to know the candidates.  We have many new faces registered for this election.  We need thoughtful, competent officials who have real-world experience in the area they seek to serve.  Government employees are public servants;               accountable to the citizens, fiscally responsible with public tax dollars, and willing to look at "best practices," even if it means changing workforce strategies or age-old policy.  The business membership of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce are looking for those candidates who can live up to this criteria.  Leadership in the private sector are continually evaluated on their effectiveness to the business in which they work.  Public sector officials should be held, at the very least, to that same standard.
